Who is Nature's Bodega?
If you're wondering who we are at Nature's Bodega – we are a tight-knit group of friends and family who want to make a difference in our beautiful backyard and beyond. Nature's Bodega operates on the ancestral and unceded territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Coast Salish Peoples.
Inspired by our stunning ocean, wildlife and skyrocketing mountains – our initial goal was to ensure that we, as a team and business, are actively protecting our home and reducing our carbon footprint. This inspiration ignited the idea to create an online space to educate and make green products accessible to those looking to transition to environmentally friendly goods.
At Nature’s Bodega, we are all about embracing slow, intentional living and taking a moment to consider where and how products are made. We want to guarantee that our customers have an online space to consume and invest in quality goods built to last while reducing their environmental impact.
Each product we carry at Nature’s Bodega is cruelty-free, palm-oil free, and they contain zero harmful chemicals or synthetic fragrances. This sparked our journey to connect with smaller and sustainable companies across Canada and the USA. Building relationships and aligning our values with these companies was a priority from the beginning to ensure that our customers can shop guilt-free with confidence that we have selected the best products that will make them feel good from the inside out. We are proud to stand alongside these businesses that use clean ingredients and recyclable or compostable packaging for their products.
A month after launch, we've already started to ponder the question, "What's next for us?".
A few different goals have crossed our minds:
- Building long-standing relationships with our day one and future partners.
- Working with charities and making donations from a portion of our sales.
- Expanding beyond the lower mainland with hopes of tapping into smaller communities across Canada that might not have the same influence or access to sustainable products.
- Increasing our knowledge about sustainability and yours too!
We are extremely excited for the future of Nature’s Bodega and where this journey will take all of us.
“The natural world is the larger sacred community to which we belong. To be alienated from this community is to become destitute in all that makes us human. To damage this community is to diminish our own existence.” - Thomas Berry
